Flat Tack Farm
Flat Tack Farm is operated by Kelly Peters and Patrick Dorris and was started in the summer of 2017. The farm uses the open spaces that aren’t growing grapes and turns them into beautiful, productive gardens. Our mission is to grow a wide variety of healthy, chemical-free produce using holistic practices that give back to the land and create an abundant ecosystem.
We are powered by hope for a healthier future, love of delicious and nutritious food, and a will to create a garden that gives back more to the earth than it is taking out. Our current cultivated area is approximately one acre and is farmed using intensive methods. We focus on low/no-till and integrating Permaculture (permanent agriculture: creating natural eco-systems designed to be sustainable and self-sufficient) practices into our gardens.
We are love growing heirloom, rare and unique varieties of produce. Patrick specializes in growing chili peppers, we offer dozens of varieties from sweet to the hottest peppers you can handle! A few of our other specialties include lots of heirloom and unique tomatoes, salad greens, potatoes of all colors, and garlic.
We partnered with Harvie, an online farm share management program, that will allow members to be able to:
• Customize what vegetables you receive in your share!
• Easily reschedule your share or change delivery dates if you aren’t able to pick up!
• Built in cooking and recipe tips plus connect with farm share members all over the world (literally!)
• Flexible payment options
• Ability to Swap items
• Ability to Add “extra” products
Farm Bucks offers even more flexibility. You can purchase Farm Bucks in increments of $100 up to $400 with a bonus of 5-15% extra value added. Produce can be purchased at our booth at the Downtown Vancouver Farmers Market. With Farm Bucks you can choose exactly what you want to buy (like going to a grocery store) from our farm stand. This is then deducted from your “tab” for the season.
We also source to a number of local restaurants in Vancouver, Camas, Washougal and Portland.
