FOOD for Lane County Youth Farm
The FOOD for Lane County Youth Farm is a program of FFLC, a 501(c)3 food bank. We cultivate 5-acres of vegetables, berries and fruit. Over half our produce is donated to social service agencies to distribute to their clients. We offer employment and life skills education for low-income youth as part of our mission to alleviate hunger by growing food, building skills and nurturing community.

FFLC_logo_color (1)Located within Springfield city limits, the Youth Farm is an educational urban farm with the goal of increasing access to fresh produce for all. In addition to our CSA and two produce stands, we offer hands-on learning and service opportunities to the general public, as well as workshops on specific gardening topics.

Through our Summer Leadership Program, we offer paid employment to 18 low-income teens who take part in a curriculum designed to teach gardening skills, nutrition and appreciation of fresh produce, financial literacy, and leadership and team building skills. Youth Farmers work with staff and volunteers of all ages to grow the fresh produce from seed to harvest. They are also trained to prepare produce for the CSA boxes and to sell the produce at our two stands.
