Stoneboat Farm is working toward the transition of a retired nursery to an awesome vegetable using Belgian draft horses, some compost, and a lot of hard work.
Our vegetable CSA is a farm membership program which involves weekly market-style pick ups at the farm – you get to choose what goes in your box! CSA members essentially buy in to the farm for a season with an upfront payment (which really helps us small scale farmers because the beginning of the season is investment time and we have little winter or early spring income). In exchange for their investment in farm membership, CSA members receive a weekly portion of the harvest. If you can’t make it to the farm on Tuesdays, we also offer pick up at our farmers market booth on Sunday at Orenco Station.
How it works:
Stop by the farm and pick up each Tuesday. We’ll have a market like display set up with tons of lovely veggies. We’ll have some chalkboards with guidelines for how to spend your credit. Or if you miss the pick-up, swing by the farmers market to spend your weekly points. We’ll be at the Orenco Station Farmers Market on Sundays from 10 to 2.
All of the veggies (as well as the optional flowers, chicken and turkey) are grown right here on our farm. We also partner with other neighboring farmers and craftspeople to get great raw milk, meat, eggs, bread, and fish available at the weekly pickups. It’s almost as convenient as a grocery store and you get to spend all those dollars locally!
We work very hard to make sure our veggies are nutrient dense and great for you. We spend days in the winter researching rock powders and minerals to add to balance out micro-nutrients and weeks during the season watching our veggies to make sure they are healthy so you will be healthy. You’ll taste, and feel, the difference!
