Able Farms

Able Farms
Able Farms is a small, sustainable farm located just outside of Portland on Sauvie Island. We follow a permaculture model, growing vegetables, berries and tree fruit, in addition to raising chickens, ducks and other livestock. The farm is owned and operated by Megan Denton, a chef of over 20 years. Megan’s culinary influence can be seen in the farm’s wide range of heirloom produce grown for their unique flavors.

Able Farms is over 3 acres of livestock, vegetable, and fruit production grown with the goal of sustainability and a vision of having the foods that feed our community originate from self-sustaining agricultural systems. We maintain a food-justice focus by following organic farming practices, humanely treating our animals, and involving our community in workshops and dinners.

Our ethics of sustainability, humane treatment of animals, and community mutual reliance defines our farm. We believe in integrity, kindness, and being a colorful thread woven within our community. We owe much love and gratitude to the Joslin family and all those whom have enabled our farm’s evolution.

All of our produce and fruits are pesticide-free and our meat and eggs are pastured, GMO-free, and USDA certified. We focus on growing heirloom vegetables and raise non commercial breeds of livestock. We take pride in our work and we welcome you to our family!able share
